Anantpurum: While condemning the hooliganism of communal elements, the participants during minority conference that was presided by CPI(M) senior leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami in Anantpuram Andhra Pradesh asked Government of India to curb the Sangh Parivar and Bajrang Dal elements who target Muslims without any fear from any corner.
The conference was attended by the representatives of different minority organizations as well as civil society, politicians and intelligentsia.
Lamenting over the incidents like Dadri, Himachal and Udhampur, Tarigami said that that there is virtually a hate campaign going on in India against the Muslims that is unleashed by communal elements associated with Sangh Parivar and as such there is fear psychosis developing among minorities.
Tarigami said that minorities especially Muslims in India dont beg for anything but demand what the Mishra Commission and Sachar Committee have recommended should be implemented in letter and spirit. Every respectable and sensitive citizen of India feels that Modi led government is not only hesitant and reluctant but virtually negating the whole concept of secular ethos of India, he said adding that a Kashmiri trucker became a prey just because he was a Muslim.
The participants passed a resolution urging upon the Government of India that it should not encourage communal elements but should come forward and take action against all those Hindu zealots who are responsible for heinous crimes against Muslims.
The participants questioned the criminal silence of Prime Minister Modi over Dadri, Himachal and Udhampur incidents and added that killing of thre innocent Muslims has exposed the claims of the government that it will go to any extent to safeguard the rights of the religious minorities in the country.
The participants demanded that there should be15 per cent budgetary allocation for the development of minorities in India. They demanded that elements like Bajrang Dal and other right wing communal elements should be taken to task for committing heinous crimes against the minorities especially Muslims of India.
They said that if communal elements are not booked and curbed then it will shake the very basic foundation of India.
