SRINAGAR: Admiral RK Dhowan, Chief of Naval Staff arrived in Srinagar Thursday on a one day visit and interacted with the Navy and Army troops. The Naval Chief was given an update by the Chinar Corps Commander, Lt General Satish Dua at the Badami Bagh Cantonment on the present security situation.
Admiral RK Dhowan is 22nd Chief of Naval Staff who was commissioned into Navy on 1st January 1975 after graduating from the National Defence Academy. On his arrival, the Chief of Naval Staff was received by Lt Gen Satish Dua, Chinar Corps Commander.
Corps Commander particularly apprised the Naval Chief about the role of Army and Marine Commandos who relentlessly worked to save the people and provide succour during the hours of distress.
