SRINAGAR: A function to facilitate Prof Irtiza Kareem, Director National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language was held here today.
Member, J&K Accountability Commission, Justice B A Kirmani presided over the function while as noted litterateurs Gulam Nabi Khayal, Farooq Nazki, Qudus Javaid and others were present on the occasion and appreciated the contribution of Prof Kareem in the propagation of Urdu language in the Country.
The function was organized jointly by Kashmir Cultural Conference and Nageena Publications Srinagar.
A two day seminar would be held under the auspices of the Council at University of Kashmir from October 17 in which papers on Urdu journalism would also be presented.
