SRINAGAR: Minister for R&B, Gardens, Parks and Floriculture, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, this morning, laid foundation of the building of J&K Al-Falah Yateem Trust at Hamdania Colony in Bemina area of Srinagar.
The Minister was informed that housed in a private rented building, the trust is taking care of 40 orphans in the age group of 8 to 15 years. Apart from religious education, the Trust has enrolled these orphans in a private educational institute for regular academic education.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the efforts of the management of the trust for running this orphanage and asked them to bring other needy children under the ambit of this centre. He said helping needy population is a noble job, adding; We should earn something which can help us after death. He asked the locals to work wholeheartedly for the welfare of the orphans adopted by the centre.
Syed Altaf said that Government will extend all basic facilities to the centre as well as to the people residing in the area, adding road construction would be taken up with the Irrigation and Flood Control Department as the bund on the bank of the flood channel is being maintained by them.
He assured people that a group of officers would be deputed to carry out a joint survey of the area for creation of basic facilities for the people. He said genuine demands of the area would be addressed in time bound manner.
