SRINAGAR: The family of Muslim League leader, Showkat Hakim, Friday alleged that Police have been trying to implicate Hakim in a fabricated case and from past many days police raided his house as a result Hakim presented himself before the police to clear the confusion.
Ghulam Muhammad Hakim, the father of Muslim League leader who hails from Paribal Hajin said that a day after the killing of Sub-Inspector Altaf Ahmed Dar at Dachina Bandipora in a militant attack, the police had been continuously raiding their house and were looking for my son Showkat Hakim.
The police parties also raided the houses of our relatives, he said. A police party informed us that my son is allegedly involved in the killing of Altaf Dar, which is baseless. My son is not a militant and has been living a normal life.
Hakim added that he was forced to present his son before Hajin Police. I am afraid that the police may implicate him in a false case, he said and appealed to government to probe the matter, the father of Showkat Hakim said.
