SRINAGAR: In response to a question from the BJP member Rajeev Sharma that children of parents of Permanent Resident Certificate holders in Jammu are being harassed during the process of issuance of PRCs, the government Thursday said that no such instance of harassment has come to notice of the government.
The Minister for Revenue said that the J&K Grant of Permanent Resident Certificate (Procedures) Act, 1963 and the rules framed there under, provide a complete and transparent procedure for issuance of the Permanent Resident Certificates to the eligible applicants.
In order to make the service time bound, it has been made obligatory for the competent authority to issue PRCs within 30 days under SRO 224 and SRO 211 of 2013 notified in terms of the J&K Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011. As such the services are now being provided hassle free and there is no complaint of any general or specific nature regarding harassment of the children of PRC holder parents while processing there PRCs, the Minister said.
Meanwhile the Minister for Revenue in response to a question raised by BJP legislator Dr Krishan Lal said that some territories of Chhamb sector ceded to Paikstan during Indo-pak war of 1965 and 1971, due to which the people residing in these areas got internally displaced. As such the people of these areas are not being denied the right to grant of PRCs under J&K Grant of Permanent Resident Certificate (Procedure) Act, 1963.
