SRINAGAR: MLA Langate and AIP President Er Rashid Wednesday strongly advocated granting of IIT, IIM and IIMC for Kashmir and warned government of dire consequences if it fails to fulfil the genuine demand of Kashmiris.
While speaking in the Assembly Wednesday he reiterated that Kashmiris are not against Jammu region but it is injustice that government will announce AIIMS, IIT and IIM for Jammu and give Kashmiris the worst treatment.
Er Rashid criticized Centre and said that when it could agree to demand of protestors in Jammu why it couldnt fulfill the legitimate demand of Kashmiris and added that people of Kashmir will not hesitate from taking to streets if they face discrimination over IIT and IIM issue.
Er Rashid also criticized opposition NC members for their role in the Assembly, by giving escape route to coalition government by boycotting the proceedings.
The drama NC is staging in the Assembly during the session is repetition of the same what PDP has been doing in the past six years during NC-Congress coalition, he said.
Er Rashid charged NC and Congress of shedding crocodile tears over various issues including revocation of ban on beef, protection of Article 35A and 370 and other sensitive issues and added that it is because of these parties that New Delhi has forced Kashmiris to compromise on everything.
He also criticised New Delhi for not granting Srinagar the status of smart city and added that GoI should announce the same without any further delay.
