SRINAGAR: A 3-day science workshop encompassing disciplines like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Astronomy, Environment and Medicinal Plants commenced at Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Pampore Monday.
The workshop is being jointly organized by NGO, National Society for Human Welfare, Science Teachers Association J&K and Vigyan Prasar, Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous scientific organization under the Department of Science & Technology.
The workshop focussed on the need for equipping teachers with appropriate pedagogical skills and methodology to meet the requirements of effective teaching-learning in the fast-changing academic scenario. It will also help teachers to learn the skills of how to make teaching, joyful, recreating, stress free and comprehensible.
Dr T V Venkateswaran, Scientist from Vigyan Prasar, Dr Mohammad Ismail Parrey, Director EDI, Dr Seemin Rubab, Associate Professor National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar who is also the chairperson of, Science Teachers Association J&K), Prof Naseer Iqbal, Associate Professor Physics (KU), Dr Irfana Begum, Scientist Vigyan Prasar, Dr Maneesh Gulati, Principal Happy Model School Udhampur, an eminent Science Communicator, Syed Riyaz, Chairman National Society for Human Welfare, Syed Ishtiyaq, Secretary Science Teachers Association (STA) and Manzoor Javaid, Convener STA were present at the inaugural function.
