Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief Yasin Malik was Friday detained by police while he was on his way to address a public meeting in Kangan area of central Kashmir.
Malik, who was on way to Kangan to adress a public gathering post-Friday prayers, was intercepted by a police team at Zakura area of the city outskirts around 11:30 am, a JKLF spokesman told CNS.
Besides Malik, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Mushtaq Ajmal, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Siddiq Shah, Prof Javaid and Muhammad Amin Mugloo and other party were also detained.
