SRINAGAR: Alleging that Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta is biased against Opposition, working president of the National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah said it seems that he (Gupta) has not grown to his position of high office.
Shame on him (speaker). Hes supposed to be the custodian of the House & should rise above petty politics, the former Chief Minister said in a tweet. He was reacting to a tweet of Mr Gupta which said the Opposition cant accept that they were no more in power.
Reacting to another tweet that Mr Gupta hit out at the Opposition, which said bills for scrapping beef ban law meant to create trouble, the Leader of the opposition in the House. Mr Abdullah further said, So much for the Speaker being the custodian of the entire house. This Speaker clearly biased against the Opposition.
Mr Abdullah further tweeted that We happily accepted being in Opposition from day one, Speaker cant seem to grow in to his position of High Office. He was reacting to a tweet which quoted Mr Gupta as saying Opposition cant accept that they are no more in power, says Jammu and Kashmir Assembly speaker Kavinder Gupta. (AGENCIES)
