KANGAN: A 14-year-old student from Srinagar city slipped to death during a school picnic in Kangan area of Central Kashmirs Ganderbal district.
A police official while identifying the slain boy as Sadat Hussain, an 8th Standard student of Tiny Hearts School Tengpora who hails from Solina area of Srinagar city said that the deceased drowned in a power canal near a park at Kijpora in Kangan town.
A teacher from the Tiny Hearts School said that they had gone for a picnic. The students were playing with each other. Sadat slipped into the canal. People present there tried their best to save him, but all in vain, he said.
Meanwhile, Parents Association of Privately Administered Schools president while holding school administration responsible for the negligence appealed to the government to take action against the school management. This school was recently in news for multiple bad reasons. We reiterate our demand that this school should be closed down once for all, said Mohsin Goni.
