SRINAGAR: The reconstituted J&K Accountability Commission has started functioning.
According to a notification issued by the commission today, regular sitting of the Bench would be held in Srinagar from Monday, October 5 2015. The sitting schedule of the Jammu wing of the Commission shall be notified separately.
Earlier Governor N.N. Vohra administered Oath of Office to Justice (Retd) Bashir Ahmed Khan as Chairman and retired Justices J.P. Singh and Bashir Ahmed Kirmani as Members of the J&K State Accountability Commission (SAC) at an impressive ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor congratulated the three retired Judges and wished them successful tenures ahead.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed; former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah besides a number of Cabinet Ministers and senior officers of civil and police administration were present on the occasion.
