SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has said the government is committed to upgrade the sports infrastructure and promote sports activities in the State adding that several initiatives have already been taken in this regard. He said special focus is being given to develop the existing sports infrastructure.
The Minister was speaking at a function after declaring open the inter-district State Level Martial Art Games 2015 open at Chrar-e-Sharief stadium today. As many as 9 districts of the State including Jammu and Kathua are participating in the championship.
The Minister said that efforts are afoot to develop playing field in every village of Chrar-e-Sharief constituency. In this regard, Mr. Hanjura directed the Youth, Services and Sports (YSS) officers of district Budgam to conduct survey of the constituency and identify the land for the purpose and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRS) and submit the same to the concerned quarters for arrangement of funds.
