Srinagar: A beacon driver was killed today in a mishap near Sadna Top in Tanghdar area of Kupwara district.
A police official said that the vehicle (Bulldozer) of beacons 109 RCC skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge near Sadna Top in Tanghdar.
In the mishap, the driver of the vehicle P Ishaq of Kerala died on spot, the official said.
In another incident, a 10-year-old girl student Ulfat Mushtaq daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of Cheepora was injured today after being hit by a speedy sumo at Krusun, Lolab in Kupwara district, the official said.
Ulfat, a class UKG student of Army Goodwill School (AGS) Krusan was immediately shifted to Kupwara hospital for treatment. The incident occurred today in the afternoon when the student was returning home from school, the official said.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in both the incidents and starts further investigations, the official added. (GNS)
