Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested three youths for their alleged role in waving of Pakistani flags and stone pelting incidents on Eid-ul-Adha day in Old city of Srinagar.
A police official said that so far three youths have been arrested over creating trouble by means of pelting stones and waving of Pakistani flags.
The official identified the arrested persons as Ishfaq Ahmad Najar son of Manzoor Ahmad of Iqbal Colony Eidgah, Hilal Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat of Narwara and Faizan Shah son of Farooq Ahmad Shah of Dangerpora, Narwara.
Several cases stand registered in different police stations of Old City; however, the trio was arrested in connection with the FIR 165/2015 u/s 147 and 148 RPC stands registered against them in police station Safakadal.
The official further said that they have launched massive investigations regarding the waving of Pakistani flags, Pro-Burhan graffiti and many stone pelting incidents in Old city.
Police is monitoring the recent stone pelting incidents and waving of flags through CCTV footage, he said, adding that whosoever is found indulging in anti-national activities will be booked under relevant sections of law. (GNS)
