SRINAGAR: In an attempt to end their lives, two women consumed some poisonous substance at their respective homes in district Anantnag.
In two separate incidents two ladies from Srigufwara Anantnag and Watnard Kokarnag consumed some poisonous substance at their residences. They were shifted to hospitals and are said to be out of danger.
In an another incident, a 50-year-old man identified as Abdul Hamid Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Latter Masjid Safakadal jumped into river Jehlum in Srinagar. Police and locals took out the body from the river near Chattabal.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man set himself ablaze at his residence in Reshipora area of Shopian District, police said.
According to reports one Bashir Ahmad Reshi S/o Ghulam Ahmad Reshi resident of Reshi Pora, Shopian, poured kerosene on himself and set himself ablaze.
The person received 90 % injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where doctors on duty referred him to SMHS hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
The man was reportedly suffering from mental illness for the past three years.
