Srinagar: The government forces today said that they have recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in Hygam village of Sopore outskirts in Baramulla district.
A senior army official told GNS that armys 52 RR and SOG during the search operation at Rakh in Hygam recovered a bag from stagnant water. After checking the bag, one pistol, two grenades, three AK magazines, 90 AK rounds, one Radio set, one pouch and one blanket were recovered, he said.
The government forces claim that the bag belonged to a slain commander Tariq Ahmad of Lashkar-e-Islam who drowned while fleeing last month. (
