GANDERBAL: Qamaria Model Higher Secondary Education Institute Saloora Ganderbal, Saturday celebrated its Annual Day by organizing a grand function in the school premises.
Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof Khurshid Andrabi was chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat and Director Iqbal Institute , University of Kashmir, Prof Bashir Ahmad Nehvi attended the function as guests of honour.
Former Chief Secretary and Chairman QMHSEI , Sheikh Ghulam Rasool Presided over the function.
Prof Khurshid Iqbal in his speech highlighted the role of youth in the preservation of cultural ethos of Kashmir and said that the students should be enlightened with the moral education side by side with the contemporary education.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal said the students have pivotal role in the development and nation building activities.
The 9th edition of school Magazine Alqamer was also released on the occasion.
During the function, the students of the institution presented mesmerizing and colourful programmes which were highly applauded by the audience.
At the end of function 12th class student Miss Uzma Ashraf was given best student award, while as a senior teacher of the institution Arifath was honored with best teacher of the school.
