Ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir have been making headlines continuously since 2014. In fact, one frustrated Quora user asked, Why does Pakistan continue to violate the ceasefire?.
What most of us dont know, is that the story across the border is identical. Just like us, the Pakistan media has been getting incensed at Indias violation of the ceasefire.
Television channels in both countries seem like mirror images, blaming each other for repeated ceasefire violations.
The story is the same when it comes to the print media Indian newspapers and their Pakistani counterparts seem to present the LoC conflict as unilateral attacks from across the border.
Headlines from Pakistan media, mirror images of their Indian counterparts
Is Pakistan guilty of unprovoked attacks on India? Or is the truth less one-sided than that?
The government and armed forces of both countries have been maintaining that they have only retaliated to aggression from the other side. The question, though, is why the media, which is fairly independent in both countries, seems to be so one-sided.
