AHMEDABAD: An Indigo flight heading to Goa was forced to make an emergency landing at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Wednesday following a flight attendant’s complaint of molestation. Indigo flight number 6E 329 was diverted to Ahmedabad airport at 12.30 pm after the air hostess filed a complaint against a passenger identified as Rahul Grover. Primary investigation revealed the accused was making obscene gestures and was booked by Sardarnagar police for eve-teasing.
As per an official statement registered by Indigo Aviation Limited (IAL), the accused Rahul Grover, a businessman by profession and a resident of New Delhi, was an unruly passenger who misbehaved with the cabin crew and refused to follow safety policies, despite several warnings by the captain. Seated on seat 2D, Grover reportedly used foul language and made inappropriate gestures to the crew members, the statement reads. He also tried to enter the toilet knowing that a crew member is inside. “In the interest of passengers, the captain offloaded the passenger at Ahmedabad airport along with his checked-in luggage and handed over to the police,” a press release stated. Grover had reportedly tried to walk towards the cockpit several times. The flight took off a few minutes after offloading Grover, who was arrested by Sardarnagar police based on a complaint filed by Paras Mistry, security manager at IAL.
