SRINAGAR: Authorities have decided to impose curfew-like restrictions in the Old City areas falling under five police stations and in Maisuma on saturday.
A senior police officer said that the restrictions would be strictly imposed in areas falling under MR Gunj, Nowhatta, Rainawari, Safa Kadal and Khanyar police stations of Old City while the same would be in place at Maisuma police station.
The decision to impose restrictions was taken in view of todays clashes and protests in different parts of valley, he said.
The officer said that elsewhere, the government forces would be deployed in large numbers. They said that the restrictions would also be imposed in those areas which saw violence today.
