SRINAGAR: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Thursday opened a two-day seminar on quality education wherein Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. S. Brar urged the need to evaluate the teaching quality periodically.
Central University of Jammu, Head and Dean Department of Educational Studies, Prof. Lokesh Verma, Dean and Head School of Education, CUK, Prof. N A Nadeem, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations/ I/c Finance Officer, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, Deans of other Schools, Heads/Coordinators of other departments, faculty members of the University and other educational institutions were also present on the occasion.
Prof. Brar said that creativity was missing in the present teaching practices and the faculty members were more concerned about completing the syllabi. The faculty should use innovative methods for teaching and learning and should be creative in their approach, he said. The faculty should also be evaluated on regular feedback from the students.
