Poonch: Police have booked 10 persons on charges of power theft in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district.
According to the SDPO Mendhar Shahid Nayeem they booked 10 persons who were involved in power theft from last many years. Basically we received a written complaint from AEE Sanjeev Kumar that 10 persons running wheat grinding machines are indulging in power theft from past 4 to 5 years, he said, adding that a case under FIR number 197 under section 95/96 was registered in Mendhar police station. The senior officer said that more people would be booked in coming days.
The AEE Sanjeev Kumar said that on the directions of Vigilance officer Jammu they sent out a team to verify the facts and after finding that these people are indulging in power theft, he wrote a letter to SDPO Mendhar. (GNS)
