Srinagar: Police foiled JKLF attempt to organize a public rally in Bandipore by resorting to a crackdown on party workers and leaders.
To stop JKLF from holding Bandipore Jalsa police last night raided the residence of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrested him. Police also disrupted the public meeting. Despite heavy restrictions and arrests, JKLF continued with its program and two separate delegations of JKLF led by vice chairman Bashir Ahmad Butt managed to reach Safapora and was lodged at police station Sumbal along with scores of activists. JKLF said another delegation led by Noor Mohammad Kalwal after dogging police and forces managed to reach Bandipore where he held a public meeting.
