Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of concerned officers of Juvenile Police Units in Kashmir region.
The meeting discussed threadbare various aspects for making the units a successful endeavour.
The meeting took many decisions including the re designation of one Assistant Sub Inspector rank officer as Police Juvenile Police Officer in 36 Police Stations of Srinagar and Budgam district who shall be given proper training from the UNICEF from September 15 to November 15, 2015.
The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to monitor such training programmes.
The Divisional Commissioner gave directions for engagement of four social workers in Srinagar and Budgam districts having Masters in Sociology, who shall works under Social Welfare department and look after in Juvenile Homes.
Child Development Project Officer UNICEF gave PowerPoint presentation and briefed the meeting about the programmes and plans of the Juvenile Police Units.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Senior Superintendents of Police Srinagar and Budgam, Child Project Officer UNISEF and other senior officers were present.
