Srinagar: The Revenue Officials (Patwaris) and their apex body All J& K Patwari Association in Kashmir who were on indefinite strike from August 22, 2015 protesting against the government for not convening the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) called off their strike till September 1, after assurances by the Revenue Minister.
The Patwaris were alleging that since last 3 years the six meetings convened by Departmental Promotion Committee in Kashmir were without results and no promotions were awarded to any Revenue official.
Secretary Patwar Association, Showkat Ahmed said that they held a meeting with the Revenue Minister Javid Mustafa Mir who assured them that the DPC meeting would be held before September 1. After the word from the Minister, we decided to call off the strike till September 1 next month, he said.
