BEIJING: A villager in China’s Longnan city has been awarded 400,000 yuan (about $62,500) after being bitten by a giant wild panda.
On March 1, 2014, Guan Quanzhi was bitten while chasing the panda which intruded into his village, Xinhua news agency reported. He suffered fractures and artery ruptures.
Guan’s relatives sued the county forestry bureau and the Gansu Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve after negotiations for taking care of his treatment failed.
