SRINAGAR: Police Wednesday foiled the protest of Non-Gazetted Employees Association of SKIMS Soura and detained six of its leaders who were demanding the ouster of the Director.
The employees for the second consecutive day assembled inside the premises of the hospital to protest against the institute administration.
However, the police detained six employees leaders and lodged them in Soura police station. The detained employees include president, vice-president, treasurer and general secretary of the Association.
Strongly condemning the action of police and SKIMS authorities, the employees said that they wont backtrack from their demand and would intensify their protest. The employees accused the Director of embezzling funds and ruining hospital administration.
Meanwhile, Employees Joint Action Committee-Kashmir President and CAPD President Aijaz Khan, doctors body and other employees condemned the detention of SKIMS Soura employees. Those who condemned the police action include Doctors Association Kashmir, Employees Joint Action Committee. The CAPD Employees Association also condemned the arrest of SKIMS employees.
