GANDERBAL: Baramulla boys clinched the State level U-19 Tennis Cricket Championship after beating Poonch by two wickets.
Kishtwar giving a tough fight to Ganderbal secured third position.
The championship hosted by the department of Youth Services and Sports, Ganderbal, is being played in three segments including U-19 and U-17 boys segments and a girls group segment.
U-19 championship that concluded today had participation of 17 districts from across Jammu and Kashmir. U-17 boys and girls open group matches will start from August 20.
In a colourful ceremony, the Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jehangir Mir, gave away prizes to the participants.
District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz, attended the function as the guest of honour. Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra, Principal College Of Physical Education, Dr. Hartej Singh, Principal Govt Degree College, Ganderbal, Ms Nasreen Malik, District Officer, YSS Ganderbal, Haji Noor-ul-Haque Andrabi along with other dignitaries and sports personalities were also present on the occasion.
