Budgam: Cloud burst claimed the life of a shepherd in Central Kashmirs Budgam district on Friday night.
The cloudburst struck Chanzh area near Doodhpatri tourist place in Budgam. One person has been killed, Deputy Commissioner of Budgam Altaf Ahmad Mir said.
The deceased who has been identified as Muhammad Ashraf Chopan son of Muhammad Shafi hails from Dedi Khansahab town of Budgam district.
The cloud burst according to officials sparked flash floods resulting in the washing away of Rohmu diversion. The Rohum-Pulwama road was closed for the traffic. Locals protest after the diversion was washed away. They alleged that sub-standard material was used in the diversion as a result it washed away by flash floods.
