KOLKATA: JK Tourism organised a Road show at Kolkata on the sidelines of the Tourism Travel Fair held here.
The Road show was attended by JK travel fraternity who were ably supported by KCCI. The show attracted a large gathering including the West Bengal tour operators, their organizations and media.
Tourism players of JK spoke in one voice and assured the potential visitors from Bengal of all support and help so that their stay in the valley remains a cherished memory.
Tourism officials highlighted the tourist products and answered the queries from press and travel/ tour operators of West Bengal. The interaction resulted in highlighting various facets of Jammu & Kashmir tourism.
Director Tourism Kashmir/MD, JKTDC Mr. Farooq Ahmad shah said that Kashmir is eagerly waiting for visitors from Bengal during the Durga Puja Holidays.
Earlier, JK tourism participated in TTF Kolkata with a big entourage, led by the Director Tourism Kashmir/MD, JKTDC Mr. Farooq Ahmad shah and Director Tourism Jammu, Mr R.K.Verma.
People of West Bengal have over the years visited Jammu and Kashmir in large numbers and we are hopeful of their coming to the state this time around too Mr. Shah said. We at JK tourism want to extend all help and assistance to the tour and travel operators of Bengal who are interested in doing business with our tour operators. Our focus shall remain on the group tours and adventure lovers, apart from leisure travelers, he added.
He said TTF is one of the biggest travel show Network of India and participating in these shows strengthens our trade relations besides developing fresh business connections.
He said Government has improved the tourist facilities at all our destinations at all major tourist destinations and tourists visiting the state shall have a comfortable stay.
Mr shah also introduced many new virgin destinations and highlighted some unique facets of JK tourism comprising Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh.
After Gujrat, JK tourism gets largest tourist arrivals from the State of West Bengal.
Tourism fraternity of JK has announced a 40% discount on all types of Tourism accommodation in the State.
A huge response was witnessed at JK Tourism Kashmir Food Festival started at JKTDC pavilion in TTF Kolkata.
