ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the action taken on the commitments made by Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his visit to the district on 9th May, earlier this year.
Superintending Engineers of PDD, R&B, PHE, Addi-tional Deputy Commissioner, General Manger, District In-dustries Centre, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B , PHE, Principals of Government Degree College for Boys & Wom-en, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Directors Floriculture, Tourism, CAPD, Officers of Horticulture, Fisheries, Wildlife, Municipality, Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer Anantnag and representative of J&K Bank attended the meeting.
The progress of the commitments made by the Chief Minister was discussed threadbare in the meeting. It was pointed out that as per the commitments of the Chief Minis-ter, biometric attendance system has been installed in four identified Model Higher Secondary Schools of the district while as establishment of Smart Classroom has also been completed in GHSS (Girls) & GHSS (Boys), Anantnag.
Provision of same facility at GHSS (Girls) & GHSS (Boys), Bijbehara has been undertaken and is expected to be completed during coming months. The work on the renova-tion and repair of auditorium Hall at GDC, Anantnag will be completed by 15th of October. It was assured that the estab-lishment and installation of electric sub-station at Polytechnic College, Larkipora will be taken up shortly for which Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Depart-ment has already released an amount of Rs.9.02 lakh.
The renovation work of Sherbagh Park will be started by Floriculture Department as the detailed DPR of the same stands approved by the concerned department. Besides, J&K Bank will also renovate the causeway of Vandlana Park at Aru, Pahalgam.
The progress on establishment of electric sub station in demarcated industrial estates at Vessu was also re-viewed. It was revealed that required material for the purpose has been dumped at the site and work on 11 KVA line is in progress. Progress related to filtered drinking water at mi-grant colony Vessu, dispensary, and macadamization of Qazigund, Dooru via Mehmoodabad road were also dis-cussed in the meeting.
The District Development Commissioner Anantnag directed organizing a special cleanliness drive at MCH hos-pital, Sher Bagh on 4TH August in coordination with Gov-ernment Degree College (Boys), Anantnag, Municipality and the Health department so that an ambience of sanitation is created in the district.
The commitments made with regard to wildlife, Edu-cation, Horticulture, Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Floricul-ture, Youth Services and Sports, organizing of inter-college tournaments, providing of toilet facility in GDC Bijbehara, landscaping of sports ground in GDC Bijbehara, renovation-cum-illumination of Rani Bagh Park , Sherbagh Temple, Ya-tri Niwas , Providing of men and machinery to MMAB Dis-trict Hospital , Shifting of Fruit Mandi, completion of circular road, restoration work of Wazir Bagh Park, installation of additional transformer at Khanabal, providing of wayside fa-cility at Animal Husbandary Bijbehara, improvement of Pad-shahi Bagh and Dara Shikoh Garden Bijbehara, improvement of Lidder valley Golf Course, amusement park , Aru, Betab valley , Pahalgam Town and HSS Pahalgam were also dis-cussed threadbare and DDC was apprised about the action taken reports in this regard.
