KATHUA- There will be similar AIIMS for both Jammu as well as Kashmir regions to be administered independently with equal provisions of infrastructure, funds, faculty and facilities, said Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI & trainings Ch Lal Singh at a Press Conference held here today at his residence in Kathua.
He said the decision of the Union Government taken after consulting the State Government is quite clear and as per the aspirations and necessities of both the regions.
The Minister said that the announcement was willfully kept low key affair in view of the seven day state mourning being observed on the sad demise of ex President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
He assured that process of establishment of AIIMS at both Jammu as well as Kashmir would commence simultaneously with equal provision of funds i.e. to the tune of Rs 1500 Crore each.
He appealed the traders and transporters to call off the agitation and resume their routine work so that general public does not suffer.
