JAMMU: As many as 19 structures, including 5 houses, were damaged and 11 mud houses partially damaged in the cloudburst which hit mountainous Mendhar belt of Poonch district.
“One Pacca and four Kutcha houses were fully severely damaged in the cloudburst which hit Kalaban and Chhungan villages of Mendhar on July 23,” Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani said today.
Besides this, six cattle sheds, six shops, a footbridge and a school building were also severely damaged, he added.
While eleven Kutcha houses suffered partial damage, Wani said, adding, several houses and cattle sheds and other properties, including some cattle were washed away.
To take stock of the situation, MLA Mendhar Javed Ahmed Rana and Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani yesterday conducted extensive tour of the affected areas to assess the damage caused.
