Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, today greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, wishing them well-being and prosperity.
In his message of felicitations on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Mufti Sayeed reminded the people about the essence of the festival, especially remembering the poor and needy and sharing happiness with them.
The Chief Minister urged the people to celebrate the occasion with those who were ravaged in the floods of 2014. Eid embeds the message of taking care of the needy and making them part of the happiness by extending financial support to them, he said.
Mufti Sayeed said the spirit behind observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month, is to express our gratitude to the Almighty Allah for giving us courage to observe fasts in Ramazan and rededicate ourselves to truthfulness, sincerity, self-control, patience and piety, thus showing complete obedience to Allah.
He expressed hope that this holy occasion will strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and bring peace, prosperity and well-being to the State and the people all over the world.
In his felicitation message, Deputy Chief Minister hoped that this auspicious occasion would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and usher the State into a period of sustained peace, progress and prosperity. He prayed for the betterment and welfare of the people of the State.
