JAMMU: The Army has set up three mobile schools in Banihal area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir to provide education to the children of nomadic Gujjar and Bakerwal community.
“The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Nachlana and Banihal under Delta Force has set up three temporary schools to mitigate the hardships faced by the children of Gujjar and Bakkarwal community who have migrated to pastures at higher reaches,” defense spokesperson Lt Colonel Manish Mehta said.
Schools have been opened at Mori, Womal and Wasamarg of Ramban district to provide basic education, ensure constructive engagement and holistic development of these children, he said.
