Anantnag:- Many residential houses were damaged due to thunder storm in Kokernag area during past night At least two residential houses were washed away in flash floods caused by a cloudburst in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Sources told to Kashmir observer that the level of water in Brengi nallah increased massively after the cloudburst hit Kokernag area of the district. They said locals rescued several Itikafis (believers who stay in mosques for worship during last ten days of Ramadan) after flood waters entered the mosques. A trout fish hatchery and Kokernag Botanical garden suffered damages because of flood waters. And one Santro car bearing registration no Jk03B 4839 was also damaged by cloudburst. Many Kokernag areas are still water logged and people are scared there. Sources added.
