Police recovers precious stolen goods
Srinagar: Pulwama Police arrested the burglar who was caught on CCTV camera while decamping with valuables from a house in Pulwama, this morning.
On 19-06-2015 a burglary of Golden ornaments and Cash, worth over one lakh was reported in the house of Dr. Gowhar Nabi resident of Dalipora Babgund Pulwama. On this a case FIR Number 169/2015 U/S 454, 380/ RPC was registered in Police Station Pulwama
During the investigation, Pulwama police was able to retrieve the photograph of the burglar from a CCTV footage. The accused was caught on a CCTV camera while carrying out burglary in the house.
Wide publicity was given to the pictures of the burglar through social media and a general look out was published in the daily local newspapers. It was thereafter that the identity of burglar was established as Majid Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie resident of Saidpora Shopian. The accused has been taken into custody and the stolen property including all golden ornaments and cash of Rs one lakh has been recovered on his instance.
