Srinagar: Former Health and PHE Minister Choudhary Taj Mohiudin has strongly contested the allegations of land grabbing levelled against him in news report of a PIL carried by a section of press on Friday.
In a statement from London today, the former Minister said his name has been unnecessarily dragged to add sensation and curiosity to the case. He categorically stated that he or his daughters do not hold even an inch of land in question illegally.
Taj said out of the 342 kanals of land mentioned in the report 170 kanals have been legally transferred in his name by one of the partners of the complainant, the records of which are available.
If the complainant thinks that their land has been encroached, it might be at the level of other villagers as me or my daughters do not hold even an inch of land in the area illegally, Taj challenged in the statement.
He said he is ready to share the details of the case with the court once it asks for the same.
