Srinagar: High-tech CCTV surveillance system at Civil Secretariat was inaugurated on Monday. Gazanffer Hussain, Commissioner Secretary to Govt. GAD inaugurated the system in presence of Director Estates & SSP Security Civil Secretariat J&K, Srinagar.
Official sources said that the project has come up in record time and would be funded by the Estates department of J&K Government. The project would provide round the clock surveillance and monitoring mechanism, besides a highly advanced data base for storage of data relating to day to day moments/activities within the premises of the complex.
The project would go a long way in strengthening the security grid at Civil Secretariat Srinagar which is being highly vulnerable and sensitive given the security scenario of the state.
Notably, the said project has been installed by a J&K based agency M/S Smart Learning after the PHQ floated its tenders.
Its pertinent to mention that similar full-fledged surveillance system is underway at J&K Civil Secretariat complex Jammu which is also being installed by the same agency and would be commissioned shortly.
