Srinagar: Government forces overnight cordoned off Gujarpatti forests in south Kashmirs Tral of Pulwama district after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.
Official sources said that after receiving the input, SOG of police, armys 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 185 Battalion of CRPF, cordoned off the forest area at 10 pm on Tuesday. “The forces conducted thorough searches in the forests,” they said.
The sources said that the militants who were believed to be five in number might have escaped before the arrival of government forces.
The cordon and search operation concluded at 8 am today, they added. (GNS)
