SRINAGAR: Special vaccination drive for intending Hajj pilgrims of district Srinagar was held today at Hajj House Bemina, where the Hajj pilgrims were vaccinated as precautionary measure to protect them from any contagious disease during the Pilgrimage-2015.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Sameer Mattoo said that this vaccination drive is carried in compliance with the guidelines of World Health Organisation (WHO). The vaccination is being administered free of cost, moreover, vaccination drive is being carried on at all district headquarters of the State. The vaccination programmes includes polio, seasonal influenza and meningococcuss vaccines.
Chief Executive Officer, State Hajj Committee, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone said that as many as 6650 pilgrims of State will perform Hajj this year while as first batch of pilgrims will leave from Srinagar to Madina Sharief on August 16, 2015.
Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, Assistant Director Health Services Kashmir, Doctors and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
