KARGIL, JUNE 16- The Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil today convened a meeting regarding development of Pashmina in Kargil district.
The main objective of the meeting was to promote Pashmina and Pashmina products in Kargil district.
DSHO, Kagil Dr. Niyaz-Ul-Hassanain highlighted the schemes being implemented by the Union Ministry and urged for providing sufficient funds to promote Pashmina in the district.
The Union Secretary, Mr S K Pandey assured adequate funds from the Ministry of Textile GOI and stressed to ensure implementation of the scheme on ground. He also appreciated the department for the performance in promoting Pashmina Goats in nontraditional areas of the district.
Enroute, the Secretary interacted with several breeders and visited different Pashmina units established under different schemes in the district.
CEC, LAHDC, Kargil requested for adequate funding for the Pashmina Sector and other allied schemes related to the Ministry.
