ANANTNAG: On eve of World Blood Donor’s Day Anantnag Working Journalists Association (AWJA) Tuesday organised a blood donation camp in the premises of District Hospital Anantnag.
The camp was inaugurated by DC Anantnag Basheer Ahmad Khan in presence of SSP Anantnag Abdul Jabbar and DO Junglat Mandi Mudasir Nazar.
On this occasion CMO Anantnag Dr. Fazil Kochak and M.S District Hospital Dr. Majid Mirab along with other officials and a large number of media persons were also present.
A number of journalists from print and electronic media, including Video and Photo Journalists donated blood in the camp. The main aim of this camp was to meet the growing demands of blood in hospitals.
S.Tariq incharge President of AWJA said that this is an initiative jointly taken by young working journalists of Anantnag in collaboration with Hospital authorities and the main aim of this initiative is to serve the humanity. He said AWJA has always remained active whenever need arose like during recent floods.
On this occasion DC Anantnag Basheer Ahmad Khan hailed the role of AWJA for organising such type of camps. He said that conducting such type of events by Journalists is itself a message for general masses and this program can be of greater importance as many people can voluntarily come forward for blood donation by taking a lesson from today’s programme.
