KULGAM: More than 250 people have fallen ill after consuming Wazwan at a marriage party in Sanyardi Damhal Hanjipora hamlet of South Kashmirs Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Reports said the villagers complained of vomiting and dysentery soon after they consumed the feast at the marriage party of one Ghulam Muhammad Bhat.
“All the people who had consumed the food fell sick, locals said adding that they were immediately referred to nearby hospitals where emergency had to be declared given the rush of patients.
Later hospital officials set up a special camp at village Primary School to tackle the rush. Doctors later shifted some 17 people to sub-district hospital Kulgam. Further details were awaited.
