Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir civil secretariat (non-gazetted) and lower grade employees union Monday observed half day strike and staged a peaceful demonstration against states Estate Department for their ill-approach towards the employees.
The union Chairman Ghulam Rasool Mir said that the employees of the union are not being provided the accommodation by the government.
He said that despite submitting a number of memorandums, the government continues to give cold shoulder to their genuine and long pending demand.
Instead of employees, they provide the quarters to illegal occupants, he had claimed
The union president had alleged harassment to the family of an employee which according to him was forcibly evicted on June 11.
Condemning the incident, he had also has sought an inquiry into the incident.
