SRINAGAR: Tightening noose around several beacon officers over the alleged embezzlement of crores of rupees in purchase of sand besides giving wages to the laborers hired for various projects in North Kashmirs Kupwara.
Sources have revealed to KNS that CBI has filed a case against 4 RC units, several engineers and around more than 6 employees over the alleged misappropriation of funds. Sources added that the investigations have been initiated into the issue.
Reports informed that for the construction of various roads besides the widening of several other routes was assigned to the Beacan engineers and employees and that some of them have allegedly embezzled the funds in the purchase of several entities related to the project.
Sources said that even the farce receipts were made in a bid to plunder the funds allotted otherwise for the project.
Acting upon the complaints filed earlier by some persons, CBI has initiated a through probe in the issue and has also registered four separate cases.
Sources said that in near future the probe shall be concluded with the action against the erring Beacon officials likely to be taken.
