Frequent Change of Guard Hits SDA Working
Srinagar: The completion of projects in vital Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) is taking toll with the government changing its heads for more than 10 times merely in two years.
Sources revealed to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that there has been direct affect over the functioning of the SDA due to the government changing its VCs continuously.
Reports informed that since the year 2013, there were at least 10 VCs which were from time to time changed, taking a direct toll over the functioning of the authority.
Since the year 2013, the first VC transferred in SDA was Mohammad Shafi Rather.
Later the process gained momentum and the state authorities transferred Satish Nehru, Saleem Shesgar, Farooq Ahmad Renzu, Farooq Shah G.N Qasba, Salman Hameed, Sarmad Hafeez who was transferred merely after three days of assuming office as VC SDA. In the recent past the divisional commissioner was given the additional charge as VC SDA. This pertinently goes contrary to the claims of the government that it will end the additional charge syndrome.
Sources privy to this development said after Sarmad was accorded the posting of VC LAWDA, the deputy chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh intervened and managed to transfer Sarmad within three days. (KNS)
