Srinagar: Police Friday claimed that two notorious drug peddlers were arrested during a raid in Pattan town.
DIG North Kashmir Gareeb Das told CNS that for a long police were looking for two infamous drug peddlers in North Kashmir.
After receiving inputs from the locals, a special police team led by SHO Pattan arrested the duo during a raid. The team also recovered banned drugs from them, he said and identified the peddlers as Esa Sheera of Haniwera Pattan and Bilal Ganaie of main town Pattan.
SHO Pattan Mir Saleem said that an FIR under NDPS has been registered against the duo.
These two peddlers were active in North Kashmir particularly in Pattan town. The duo were responsible for the growing drug menace in the town, he said.
