Govt to offer package of incentives to growers to improve quality, production
SRINAGAR: Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri today said the existing Fruit Mandi at Pulwama would be expanded and upgraded by augmenting it with additional 51 kanals of land. He said the upgradation of the Fruit Mandi would provide adequate marketing facilities to the fruit growers of Pulwama district.
This was stated by the Minister today during his tour to the fruit Mandi Pulwama today. He said 41 kanals of land have already been notified and land acquisition is under process. He said for the purpose Rs 2.50 crore have already been released by the government while an additional amount of Rs 5 crore needed for the purpose would also be arranged shortly. He said to connect the mandi with circular road 10 kanals of more land would be acquired. He said cold storage and packing and grading facilities would be also setup in the Mandi.
